Elderly Woman Injured In NE Philadelphia DUI Accident
An 84-year-old woman was left in extremely critical condition after being struck by a motorist in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia on Monday, October 9th. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the 8000 block of Pine Road.
According to police, the victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu. The driver then parked nearby and returned to the scene after police began investigating the accident. Police then brought him into custody for further questioning.
Philadelphia Police have now charged the 24-year-old man with Aggravated Assault while Driving Under the Influence, Aggravated Assault by Motor Vehicle, and other related offenses.
4 Killed, 2 Injured In Gloucester Township Car Accident
Four people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Gloucester Township, NJ on Sunday, October 8th. The accident happened near the intersection of Sicklerville Road and Dunlin Way around 5 p.m.
One of the cars drifted into the opposite lane, but police have yet to release further details as the accident is still under investigation.
Bucks County Man Killed In Industrial Work Accident
A 48-year-old Levittown man died in an industrial work accident at the U-Haul Falls Manufacturing facility in Falls Township on Friday, October 6th.
The accident happened when a heavy steel product on a table forced the table to go up and sideways into the air. When the table came back down, it pinned the man against a machine. Co-workers successfully removed the man from between the two objects because volunteer fire crews and the Morrisville Rescue Squad arrived on the scene. However, the worker succumbed to his injuries and passed away after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) has been notified of the incident.
2 Injured In Hamilton Township Head-On Collision
Two drivers were injured in a head-on crash in Hamilton Township, NJ on Thursday, October 5th around 7:20 a.m.
According to police, the driver of a Chevy sedan was traveling south on Route 50 when the vehicle was struck head-on by a Hyundai SUV. Both drivers suffered moderate injuries and were trapped in their vehicles until emergency responders arrived at the scene. Volunteer firefighters, members of the Hamilton Township Rescue Squad, and AtlantiCare paramedics all worked together to remove the drivers from their vehicles.
A police investigation found that the driver of the Hyundai SUV caused the accident by crossing the center and drifting into the southbound lane. She was cited for failure to maintain a lane. The accident is still under investigation.
