Motorcyclist Dies In Gloucester County Accident
A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with an automobile in Woodbury, NJ on Friday, September 22nd. The man was riding a 199 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Broad Street when he crashed into a 2006 Kia Spectra which was turning from the southbound side of Broad Street onto Park Avenue.
The motorcyclist made an impact with the rear passenger side of the vehicle and was thrown from his bike. The car was sent spinning upon impact.
The driver and passenger of the Kia were both uninjured in the accident. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and fully cooperated with investigators. The accident remains under investigation.
Philadelphia Jury Awards $57 Million In Pelvic Mesh Lawsuit
A Pennsylvania woman was awarded a record jury verdict of $57 million in a lawsuit against Johnson and Johnson on Wednesday, September 6th. The lawsuit was in regards to complications suffered because of a pelvic mesh product, which is used to reinforce tissue around the urethra for women who suffer from stress urinary incontinence. Ethicon, a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson, is the manufacturer of the product.
According to the lawsuit, the pelvic mesh product eroded the woman’s urethra and caused complications which required three revision surgeries. Some of the mesh still remains embedded in her body.
Hundreds of thousands of other women from all over the country have filed similar lawsuits after suffering complications from Ethicon’s product. In Philadelphia alone, there are at least one thousand other women who have taken legal action.
Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck By Car In Northeast Philadelphia
A female pedestrian suffered critical injuries after she was struck by a car in Northeast Philadelphia last Wednesday, September 20th. The accident occurred around 9:30 PM at the intersection of Roosevelt Blvd. and Southampton Road.
The victim was struck in the northbound inner lanes and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The accident was initially reported as a hit-and-run, but the driver eventually returned to the scene.
Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Chester County
A man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking along Hill Road in Chester County on Sunday, September 24th. Shortly before this incident, the victim had been in his own accident and was walking home when he was struck.
He was transported to Paoli Hospital for treatment of his injuries, where he later died. The driver who struck him fled the scene of the accident.
The victim’s family is offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
