Wrong-way Truck Crashes Into Philadelphia Bar
A U-Haul truck was driving the wrong way on a one-way street when it hopped over a curb and plowed into a newly opened bar/restaurant in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia on Wednesday, June 28th.
The man driving the truck was arrested and charged with DUI after attempting to leave the scene of the accident. He was brought to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment of leg pain. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
The driver was traveling northbound on the southbound-only North Second Street when the truck veered onto a sidewalk and into the front of Urban Village Brewing Co., breaking the bar’s windows before it landed inside.
Two parked cars were also hit and damaged in the accident before the truck crashed into the bar.
1 Dead, 1 Injured in I-95 Car Accident In South Philadelphia
There was a fatal car accident on I-95 in South Philadelphia at around 12:30 PM on Tuesday, July 4th.
A 60-year old man lost control of his SUV while driving southbound in the left lane of I-95, near Front Street. He collided with another vehicle traveling in the southbound middle lane, and the second vehicle flipped over.
The 60-year old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 23-year old female, was sent to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Overturned Tractor Trailer Closes I-476 In Delaware County
A tractor trailer crashed and overturned on 1-476 Northbound in Delaware County on Monday, July 3rd. The driver was rescued by emergency responders and taken to a nearby hospital. His condition has not yet been revealed.
All lanes of I-476 northbound were closed at the scene of the crash until crews had cleaned up the debris that spilled onto the road during the crash. They were reopened Monday night.
Driver Injured In Fiery Accident With Philadelphia Garbage Truck
A motorist is recovering from serious injuries after a fiery accident with a trash truck in the early hours of Friday, June 30th. The driver rear-ended the trash truck, and the car burst into flames upon impact.
Firefighters on the scene helped pull the driver from the wreckage of his vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for multiple injuries. No one else was injured in the accident.
