The Philadelphia metro area is a region rich in history and culture. Glenside’s Keswick Theatre is both a cultural and historical institution which has been entertaining local residents and tourists alike with a variety of concerts, acts, and other events since 1928. Our Montgomery County personal injury lawyers love to take our families here when we’re looking to enjoy a concert or play. The theatre has a steady of rotation of events which appeal to all ages and various types of interests. Some of the upcoming events we’re looking forward to at Keswick Theatre include:
Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas: Sister Rolls The Dice
This play is part of a comedy series, which is sure to guarantee laughs for both parents and kids. A convent assigns the main character Sister with the task of organizing a Las Vegas night, based on her experience with running the Church Bingo for the past 25 years. This comedy appeals to a wide audience of people from all types of religious groups. Anyone who intended Catholic school will laugh especially hard as they’re taken back to those youthful experiences.
Charlotte’s Web
This Theatreworks production is based on the seminal children’s novel of the same name by E.B. White. The short play runs about one hour and is recommended for kids from grades K through 5. Parents will enjoy the play too, especially those who also read this classic novel during their childhoods.
The Temptations & The Four Tops
Keswick Theatre attracts some legends of American music, and the Temptations and Four Tops are the latest to make the bill. The Motown giants have been on the scene for nearly five decades and have touched multiple generations with their soulful music. We’re excited to jump on the rare opportunity to see two of American music’s most legendary groups perform their classics live and in person.
Pink Martini: Sympathique 20th Anniversary Tour
Pink Martini offers a modern take on music you’d find in romantic Hollywood musicals of the 1940s and 50s. They’re an Oregon-based miniature orchestra which was founded in 1994 by a classically trained pianist named Thomas M. Lauderdale. They specialize in political fundraisers for causes like civil rights, environmental concerns, affordable housing, and public broadcasting. What initially started as a group of 4 has grown to 12, and the group has gained international acclaim after playing venues in Europe, Asia, Lebanon, Turkey, Canada, and the United States.
Curious George: The Golden Meatball
Curious George: The Golden Meatball is another music made for kids, but which parents will enjoy as well. Curious George has been a cultural institution for decades, so parents who read these books as kids will surely feel a sense of nostalgia as they watch this modern theater take on this classic children’s literature. This short 50-minute play follows George as he helps his friend Chef Pisghetti on All-You-Can-Eat Meatball Day. A meatball machine is keeping the crowds away this year, so George tries to get the Chef’s Meatballs into Rome’s world-famous Golden Meatball Contest.
