Overturned Truck On I-95

Around 10:30 am on Friday, April, 28 a crash occurred on I-95 near the Cottman Avenue exit involving an overturned truck. The accident occurred when a silver SUV crashed into the side of the truck leaving a giant hole in the side of it and spilling some kind of material onto the road. The truck turned over onto its side causing major traffic delays in the area. The truck was blocking 2 southbound lanes and emergency crews were blocking 2 northbound lanes leaving only 2 lanes open for traffic in each direction. One person was taken to the hospital as a result of the crash.

Deadly Accident On Route 322

On Monday, April 30, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on Route 322 around 10:30 am. Three vehicles were involved in the crash including a dump truck. The accident caused hours of traffic delays because crews needed to shut down a section of 322 which didn’t reopen until about 2:30 pm. One driver was trapped in their vehicle and needed to be rescued. He was taken to Crozer Hospital where he later passed away. Two other drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries which were treated at the scene. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Three People Injured In Delaware Car Crash

Just before 2:30 pm on Monday, April 30, a 78-year-old woman was driving her Hyundai Sonata in Elsmere, DE when she crossed over the westbound lanes of Kirkwood Highway into the eastbound lanes by way of the crossover “For Official Use Only” then hitting a vehicle traveling eastbound, driven by an 18-year-old man. This caused the man’s vehicle to run into a utility pole. Rescue workers helped to free the man from his vehicle and he was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata had an 81-year-old passenger in her car with her and they were both also taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
