The car accident lawyers in Hollywood, Pennsylvania from Monheit Law present this article to you for your enjoyment.

History

Located in Abington Township in Montgomery County, the unincorporated community of Hollywood happens to be known for its assortment of California-style houses. A California builder by the name of Gustav Weber created a small community of 174 Cali-inspired homes in 1928.

The houses were designed to recreate the iconic pastel shades and flat-roof constructions similar to what you’d see in LA. The streets where these homes were built are named after popular Southern California cities.

Upon the establishment of this community, the landscaping was hard to create due to the necessary warm climate of the West coast plants, greenery, and herbs. Unfortunately, all the landscaping died due to the inability to survive during the Northeastern winters. The plants were later removed and redone with concrete and other modifications.

As changes were made, the project never came to completion according to the plans of Gustav Weber. Many obstacles came in the way, with some including the stock market crash in 1929 and rumors of Weber having an unfaithful wife. Soon after, in the 1940s, a developer picked up where Weber left off and completed the development.
