Police In Search Of Two People Involved In Fatal Accident
On Thursday morning, July 12, an accident occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Berks County a little after 2 am. A New York man who had just been in a car accident was standing outside of his vehicle when he was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. There were two other people who were in the man’s car who had been killed that fled after the fatal accident occurred. The cause of the first accident is unknown and police are searching for the two individuals that fled. The accident occurred in the westbound lanes which remained closed for 8 hours following the crash.
5 Die In Multi-Car Crash In Delaware
On Friday, July 6, a multi-car crash occurred on Route 1 in Townsend, Delaware at about 3:50 pm. The crash happened when a pick-up truck crossed the center median of the road into northbound traffic hitting a vehicle which came to a stop at the median while the truck continued on northbound. A minivan carrying a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children, struck the stopped vehicle. The crash was fatal for all but 1 passenger in the minivan. A father and 4 daughters passed away and the mother was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 2 occupants of the pick-up truck were also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is under investigation.
Fatal Accident Involving A Tractor-Trailer
Around 12:50 pm an accident occurred on an overpass of Route 42 South near Exit 13 to Bellmawr. The accident caused a tractor-trailer to hang over one side of the overpass and a man in a Jeep Wrangler to be trapped underneath the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and traffic returned to normal around 5 pm after the truck was towed away.
