Two Men Dead After Tragic Accident In Philadelphia
On Monday, June 4, a 15-year-old girl was in the car with her mother in front of a Dollar Tree in Port Richmond. Two men were directing her and trying to help her park when she accidentally struck them with the SUV. Both men were killed in the accident. The teen was learning how to drive and was being supervised by her mother at the time of the accident. There have been no criminal charges filed however to obtain a legal driving permit an individual must be 16-years-old. The mother, in this case, would probably bear any legal responsibility since she was supervising the minor.
New Jersey Police Officer Injured In Strange Car Accident
On Thursday morning, May 7, a Gloucester County police officer was responding to a car crash when he was injured. As the officer arrived a second crash involving a box truck occurred. The truck hit a utility pole which fell hitting the officer’s vehicle. The collision caused the police cruiser airbag to deploy which caused the officer to suffer facial injuries. As the officer attempted to exit his vehicle he was shocked when he touched the door due to the downed electrical wires from the utility pole. The officer was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia and is in stable condition. Both crashes are being investigated.
A Deadly Motorcycle Accident In The Olney Section of Philadelphia
On May 7, around 3:15 pm a 59-year-old woman who was driving a Chrysler 300 was making a U-turn on the 5300 block of Rising Sun Avenue when she struck a motorcyclist. The 27-year-old man was driving a Suzuki motorcycle when he was struck in the Olney section of Philadelphia. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. There have been no arrests made in connection with the accident.
Multi-Vehicle Crash In Feltonville
On Sunday, June 3, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in Feltonville on the inner drives of Roosevelt Boulevard around 1:30 pm. The accident occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and North Mascher Street. One person was injured and taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and the cause of the accident is not known at this time.
