Terrible Morning Traffic Following Multi-Vehicle Crash

The Thursday morning commute to work was a difficult one for many who were traveling eastbound on Route 422. The usually busy highway was the location of a five-car crash in Upper Merion Township around 5:45 am. The crash was even more chaotic because it occurred in a construction zone which was already experiencing a traffic jam. Emergency crews had difficulty getting to the accident due to the backup of traffic and the fact that there was no shoulder of the road to drive down. Traffic was backed all the way up to Oaks and some of the drivers had to be forced off the road. There was one person reported to have been injured and the highway was opened up again at 7:30 am.
