Fatal Accident On Interstate 495 In Delaware
On August 11, a tractor-trailer broke down on the northbound side of the Interstate 495 around 3 am. The trailer was carrying molten sulfur, which was not a threat to anyone around the vehicle but the trailer did roll onto its side and hit the guardrail spilling about 100 gallons of diesel fuel. The spill required a lengthy cleanup and repair and left the southbound side of the interstate closed until about 3 pm.
Traffic Accident In South Dakota Leads To Charges For A Philadelphia Man
After a traffic accident occurred on Wednesday morning, August 15 a 21-year-old Philadelphia man will be facing charges. According to the police, the man was driving east on Vista Loop and failed to turn at the “T” intersection with Abbey Road. The man’s car went over the curb and then hit a retaining wall. There were no injuries reported in the crash but the man was discovered to have been drinking before the crash occurred. He was later arrested for DUI and Driving without a Valid License. His vehicle has sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.
School Bus Flips Over On New Jersey Turnpike
On Saturday, August 11, a school bus carrying 33 people crashed and overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike in the northbound lanes. The bus was returning home from the Newark Mayor’s annual Mayor’s Family Reunion/Picnic at Black Bear Lake Country Club when a hit-and-run involving a car caused the accident in East Brunswick. There were no serious injuries reported but dozens are reported to have been taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Multi-Vehicle Accident On New Jersey Turnpike
On Friday, August 17 a multi-vehicle accident occurred in the evening on the New Jersey Turnpike near Bordentown, NJ. According to police, the accident involved an SUV and 3 tractor-trailers. One of the tractor-trailers went up in flames and the other vehicles sustained damage but no injuries were reported. The accident is under investigation.
