Accident In Newark Delaware Leaves 1 Dead And 4 Injured

On Saturday, August 18, a 39-year-old man was driving on Salem Church Road in a Ford F-150. Around 10:30 pm the driver of the Ford decided to pass the vehicle in front of the while it was in a no-passing zone. The Ford crossed into oncoming traffic in order to try to pass the car in front of them and hit a Toyota Camry head-on pushing the Camry off the road into a ditch and overturned. Two of the three people in that car were trapped inside of the vehicle. The driver of the Camry was taken to Christiana Hospital in serious condition. The other two passengers were the driver’s parents who were not wearing seatbelts and sitting in the back of the vehicle. The father passed away and the mother is in critical condition. The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe that alcohol could have contributed to the accident.

Car Crash Into Store Front Injured Two Children

According to police, in Harleysville, PA a 94-year-old man was attempting to exit a parking space when he mistakenly hit the gas pedal rather than the brake. This caused his Chevrolet Impala to crash over the curb and through the front window of a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. Two children were in the store at the time of the crash and were injured. One child was hit by the vehicle and another child was injured by glass from the broken window. Both children were taken to Grand View Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle was freed from his vehicle and also reported to be injured. The crash is being investigated.  

Downed Tree Leads To Several Car Accidents On The Turnpike

On Wednesday, August 22, a tractor-trailer was traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on the eastbound side in Chester County. Around 3 am the truck crashed into a downed tree just past Route 29. The vehicle went off the road and six more vehicles were involved in accidents in the same area due to the downed tree. The area was cleared by about 7 am and no injuries were reported.
